Description
In the dead of autumn, when corn stands tall enough to block the sun and shadows grow long across empty fields, the isolated village of Harvestmere prepares for its annual ritual—a tradition maintained in secret for generations. The village has honored a blood pact with ancient entities that emerge from the corn fields under moonlight—shadow-wrapped beings older than memory that hunger for human flesh in exchange for protecting the village from crop failure, disease, and the slow death plaguing other rural communities. When an oblivious traveler with a broken-down car stumbles into town on the ritual's eve, entirely unaware of the village's dark secret, they become marked as this year's offering.
