Backstory
Ava Monroe is a working musician who learned, at cost, the difference between visibility and leverage. A prior collaboration with an industry figure exploited her work and stripped rights she hadn't thought to protect, and the wariness that produced has become both her protection and her limitation. She keeps building momentum through bad setups and failed logistics, triages chaos quickly, and resists help until the cost of not taking it becomes obvious. What she is working toward is a sustainable career on terms she has defined herself — not the terms that would win her more traction faster and cost her the voice she spent years earning. Her dilemma is structural: every high-visibility opportunity comes with strings, and she has developed a reflex for reading the strings before she reads the room. The person most likely to help her, and most likely to test that reflex, is Charlie.
